Valencia on 18 April and Lanzarote on 15 May will give Spain two scoring races in the 2027 IRONMAN Pro Series. The Spanish 70.3 and the Canary Islands full-distance event belong to a 16-race series beginning in Muscat and ending in Kona.
IRONMAN announced the series on 9 September. There is an important distinction when reading its calendar: the Pro Series is a selection of professional races. An event can host professionals without counting towards the series standings.
Two Spanish dates to follow
Lanzarote will make its Pro Series debut at its 35th edition. Wind, volcanic terrain and a demanding bike course are central to the race identity described by the organiser. Its addition gives the Canary Islands a full-distance scoring event.
Valencia will provide Spain’s earlier 70.3 stop. Together, the two races offer a chance to follow both formats in Spain, with a clear distinction between full and middle distance.

Professional racing and the Pro Series are different lists
These 16 events do not constitute IRONMAN’s entire professional calendar. A race missing from a professional list has not necessarily been cancelled for age-group athletes: that requires separate confirmation.
When planning a season, check the event date, whether it has professional racing and whether it counts towards the series as separate questions. Inclusion in the series also does not confirm the participation of any particular athlete.
