Lanzarote, Vitoria-Gasteiz and Calella-Barcelona are Spain’s reference points in the published 2027 European full-distance IRONMAN calendar. May, July and October offer three different season targets for athletes taking on the 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike and marathon run.

Lanzarote combines a Playa Grande swim, cycling through volcanic landscapes and a coastal run, according to IRONMAN’s description. It will also join the Pro Series in 2027, adding professional interest to the Canary Islands event.
Vitoria-Gasteiz offers a northern Spanish setting and a city with a strong triathlon tradition. Calella-Barcelona provides a Mediterranean contrast: the organiser highlights a sea swim, fast cycling and a flat run.

The tables use dates listed in the Triatlón Noticias guide, with each name linking to the official race page. Leeds is still awaiting a definitive date and is not yet added to the agenda with a fixed day.
Knokke-Heist steps up; Les Sables returns
Belgium’s new full-distance event is scheduled for 5 September. Knokke-Heist’s municipality announces the country’s first full-distance IRONMAN, while IRONMAN confirms it will replace the local 70.3.
In France, Les Sables d’Olonne-Vendée returns over the full distance on 27 June. Its official website dates the inaugural Full event to 2025, so 2027 will not be its first edition in this format.
