Until 2024 the PTO story could look like a sequence of investors, plans and experiments. Then it took a form every fan could recognise: races.
PTO and World Triathlon relaunched the PTO Tour as the T100 Triathlon World Tour, initially featuring eight events and 40 leading professionals over 100km: 2km swim, 80km bike and 18km run.
The key was not only the new name. World Triathlon had designated the tour as the official world championship tour for the format.
In simple terms: investor money was no longer visible only in funding announcements. It was visible on the start line.
