Calella and the Barcelona coastline have become firmly associated with international long-distance triathlon. The combination of Mediterranean swimming, fast cycling and a coastal run has made the destination familiar to thousands of athletes travelling to Spain to race.
For TriSpain, Calella is also an example of the connection between event and destination: accommodation, transport, training and race logistics all shape the athlete’s experience.
